We very much enjoyed our stay at Helsinki House. Rooms are clean and well-appointed. Food at the rooftop restaurant was great – honestly, the best chicken curry that we had in 10 days traveling around Rajasthan. Maru was very helpful arranging airport pickup for us as well as the camel safari and other transportation. All the staff were great. Definitely made the right choice booking here in Jaisalmer.
Our quiet oasis in Jaisalmer, this boutique hotel is a real gem.
The staff is overwhelming, helped us in an unpleasant situation, welcomed us despite the whole city being in a covid emergency.
The deluxe rooms are spacious, characteristic, the bed comfortable and the atmosphere very typical.
The central patio is excellent for relaxing and there is also a restaurant on the roof top with absolutely delicious dishes and cooked with extreme care. This is definitely one of the best places we have eaten.
The position is secluded, 10 minutes from the walls, in the quiet and peace, 10 minutes also from Gadisar Lake.
Absolutely to recommend!!
We cannot speak more highly of this hotel and their staff. We arrived early in the morning and realised we had made an error on our booking dates. The hotel was able to sort this out for us and offer both early checkin and late checkout.
We ate several meals at the hotel and all were delicious. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms spotless. They also arranged a desert safari with a lovely cameleer.
Well done and thank you to you all at Helsinki Hotel.
Great place to stay. Staff name Ram Prasad working @ Roof top restaurant took great care of us. Property located away from noisy city centre. Highly recommended, it was a calm, peaceful stay. Good food, good location and Thanks to the owner who dropped us to the railway station as a complimentary ride.
The property is situated 15 minutes’ walk or 5 minute tuk-tuk ride to the fort, in a quiet neighbourhood. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and on many occasions went out of their way to meet our needs; the owner himself went out of his way to find the perfect pillow for my wife! We stayed here on two different occasions, where the first occasion we were upgraded to a room which was extremely generous in space. The rooms themselves are clean and complete with all the basic amenities one would need. The beds are a perfect combination of soft and firm, something I have yet to encounter over the last 6 months of traveling. The hotel also has a rooftop restaurant that serves very decent Indian fare, while offering unobstructed views of the fort. Highly recommendable accommodation if you are traveling to Jaisalmer; without a doubt would stay here again.
Beautiful hotel in Jaisalmer within easy reach of the fort. The rooms are large and homely, kitted out with traditional Rajasthani furniture and fabrics. Very clean and modern en cutie bathrooms. Lovely terrace serving really good breakfast, lunch and dinner. Was great to stick around the hotel a few nights and not have to worry about finding a good restaurant.
Above all else, the service provided by the hotel staff made our visit. The Hotel Manager, Maru, sorted out trips, shopping, scooter/motorbike hire and airport drop offs and pick ups. And the restaurant manager was attentive and very welcoming, making sure our order came out promptly. This made our trip in Jaisalmer. Will be sending all my friends here and can’t wait for the next stay.
The stay was amazing, the facilities, rooms were perfect. The staff made the stay feel like home. The Golden fort was clearly visible from the cafe which provides excellent food and drinks. A must try for all kinds of travellers. An amazing location and experience as the hotel has boutique designs of the traditional Jaisalmer style mansions. 10/10 for all the elaborate facilities and experience.
We arrived at Hotel Helsinki House after an overnight train and it instantly felt like an oasis in the desert. Beautiful building and we were greeted by the wonderful Meru who was incredibly kind and welcoming. Our room had a nice balcony overlooking the desert and a double shower which was a real treat. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant are wonderful and it has an amazing view of the fort. We also chose to do the hotel’s camel safari not that we felt it was pushed upon us. We went with Mega and Gani and our two camels Monya and Sonya. The overnight stay under the stars was amazing and Mega was a great cook and host. Highly recommend this too.
Hotel is lovely and the staff are very attentive – the location is nice and quiet away from the busy town area but near enough to enjoy all it has to offer. All the food in the restaurant is freshly prepared to order and tastes amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Jaisalmer!
The rich architecture of Jaisalmer is very much present in this hotel and so is the hospitality. The rooms are absolutely spectacular, specially the deluxe rooms and the restaurant at the top of the hotel has some really good stuff. The manager of the hotel was very kind and helped us plan our trip the right way. Not only that, we had a late train to Jaipur. He also allowed us to stay in the hotel and dropped us off to the railway station. I’d highly recommend the hotel to everyone travelling to Jaisalmer.
The view of Jaisalmar Fort from the roof terrace of Hotel Helsinki House is a magical view I will always treasure. HH is the perfect base from which to explore both the Golden City and the surrounding Thar desert (overnight camping organised by the hotel is a must!!). You can walk to the fort in 10mins and when your legs are weary can replenish your energy with the most delicious food served by the super friendly team at HH, whilst chilling on the spacious roof terrace. The rooms are brilliant and you will receive a genuine warm welcome and attentive service throughout your stay. Solo travellers, couples or groups – this is the ideal place to experience real Jaisalmar hospitality!
